Binary Plan
A binary plan is a compensation plan that limits each distributor to two placement legs, commonly labeled left and right. Bonuses are usually paid when the smaller leg's volume matches a set amount of the larger leg's volume, a mechanic called a pair bonus. Extra volume beyond the paid pair typically rolls over to the next period as carryover.
Also called: binary compensation plan, two leg plan
Why it matters
The two leg limit means a distributor's own recruits, and the recruits their upline places under them through spillover, both count toward the same two legs. This structure rewards balanced team building rather than one deep or wide leg.
Example
A distributor with 1000 points of volume on the left leg and 400 points on the right earns a pair bonus on the matched 400 points, and the remaining 600 points on the left leg carries over into the next period.
