Amorepacific
Amorepacific is a South Korean beauty and personal-care company operating more than 30 brands, including Sulwhasoo, Laneige, Innisfree, and Etude, sold through both retail channels and a long-running door-to-door sales network.
Overview
Amorepacific traces its roots to 1945, when it was established in Seoul as Pacific Chemical Co., Ltd. It grew into one of South Korea's largest cosmetics conglomerates, renaming itself Amorepacific in 2002, and today operates as a publicly traded subsidiary (KRX: 090430) of the holding company Amorepacific Holdings (renamed from Amorepacific Group in 2025) on the Korea Exchange. The company develops, manufactures, and markets skincare, makeup, hair, body-care, and health-food products across a multi-brand portfolio that includes Sulwhasoo, Laneige, Innisfree, Etude, Mamonde, and Cosrx, among others. Historically, Amorepacific built a large in-person "door-to-door" sales channel starting in the early 1960s, employing tens of thousands of independent sales representatives (known as "Amore" counselors) organized by territory across South Korea; this channel has diminished in relative importance as the company expanded into department stores, specialty retail, e-commerce, and international distribution. Amorepacific now operates globally, with retail and distribution presence spanning Asia, North America, and Europe, and its headquarters located in the Yongsan district of Seoul, South Korea.
