BODi
BODi (formerly The Beachbody Company) is a publicly traded fitness, nutrition, and wellness company based in El Segundo, California, known for home workout programs and the Shakeology nutrition line, which shifted from a multi-level marketing model to a single-level affiliate program in late 2024.
Overview
Founded in 1998 by Carl Daikeler and Jon Congdon, the company built its early business selling home fitness programs such as P90X and Insanity through direct-response TV infomercials, later adding the Beachbody On Demand streaming platform, Shakeology and Beachbody Performance nutrition products, and MYXfitness connected exercise bikes. The company went public in 2021 via a SPAC merger, and in 2023 the parent was rebranded from The Beachbody Company to BODi; it continues to trade publicly as The Beachbody Company, Inc. From 2006 the company distributed its programs largely through an independent "Team Beachbody" coach network organized as a multi-level marketing structure, in which coaches earned commissions on personal sales and on sales made by coaches they recruited. In October 2024 the company announced it was ending this MLM structure, moving to a single-level affiliate/referral commission program effective November 1, 2024, with the legacy coach network winding down by January 1, 2025; the change coincided with workforce reductions. BODi operates primarily in the United States, with additional presence in Canada, the United Kingdom, and France. It is headquartered in El Segundo, California, and its common stock trades under the ticker BODI on the Nasdaq Capital Market, having voluntarily moved there from the NYSE effective September 3, 2025.
