Overview

Enagic traces its origins to a Sony-affiliated trading operation that began in June 1974 in Okinawa, Japan, initially producing industrial-grade water treatment equipment before moving into home water ionizers in the late 1980s; the company adopted the Enagic name and began selling Kangen Water in 1990. The parent company, Enagic International Co., Ltd., is headquartered in Tokyo and operates its own manufacturing facility in Japan. Enagic USA, Inc., based in Torrance, California, was established in 2003 as part of the company's international expansion and is a member of the U.S. Direct Selling Association (DSA). The company's core product line is the Kangen Water line of electric water ionizers, sold exclusively through a network of Independent Distributors rather than retail. Distributors earn commissions under a proprietary structure the company calls the "Basic 8-Point Commission Structure," in which each machine sale generates points distributed across a distributor's upline according to published rank levels (1A through 6A). Enagic operates branch offices across multiple regions, including North America, Europe, and Asia-Pacific, with region-specific corporate sites (e.g., Enagic Europe, Enagic Asia) alongside the main U.S./global site.
