Overview

Forever Living Products was founded in 1978 by Rex Maughan, who invited family and friends to the company's first meeting in Tempe, Arizona, launching an aloe-based product line with an initial group of about 40 distributors. The company grew into what is widely described as the world's largest vertically integrated grower, manufacturer, and distributor of aloe vera, later expanding its catalog to include bee-derived products, nutritional supplements, skincare, and weight-management lines. The company sells through a direct-selling (multi-level marketing) model built on a unilevel compensation structure, in which independent distributors ("Forever Business Owners") earn retail markup on product sales as well as commissions based on the sales volume of people they personally recruit and those recruits' own downlines. Forever Living is a long-standing member of the U.S. Direct Selling Association (DSA). Forever Living is headquartered in Scottsdale, Arizona, and operates internationally through regional subsidiaries and distributor networks across North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Asia, reporting operations in more than 160 countries. It remains privately owned, with the Maughan family continuing to be closely associated with company leadership following Rex Maughan's death in 2021.
