Overview

Hy Cite Enterprises, LLC was founded in 1959 by Peter O. Johnson, growing out of an earlier cookware distributorship into a company that develops, manufactures, and distributes premium kitchenware. In 1971 the company introduced its flagship Royal Prestige line, and starting in the 1970s it built out a network of independent distributors that expanded well beyond Wisconsin. The company operates on a direct-selling model: independent distributors demonstrate and sell Hy Cite's products directly to consumers, with the corporate parent handling product development, manufacturing sourcing, financing, marketing, and customer service. Product lines include cookware, cutlery, tableware, crystal and china, and water and air filtration systems, often sold as bundled home systems rather than single items. Today Hy Cite is headquartered in Middleton, Wisconsin, and operates in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, and Peru per its own Royal Prestige "About Us" page. It is a member of the U.S. Direct Selling Association and remains a privately held company.
