Natura
Natura is a Brazilian cosmetics and personal-care company, founded in 1969 and headquartered in São Paulo, that sells through a direct-sales (door-to-door/consultant) network across Latin America and other markets.
Overview
Natura Cosméticos S.A., founded in São Paulo in 1969 by Antônio Luiz Seabra, makes and sells cosmetics, fragrances, and personal-care products. Since 1974 it has relied primarily on a direct-sales channel, in which independent consultants purchase products for resale to end customers, alongside owned retail stores and e-commerce. The company listed on Brazil's B3 stock exchange in 2004 (ticker NATU3) and grew through acquisitions of international beauty brands over the following two decades, including a controlling stake in Avon Products completed in January 2020, which brought a large multi-country direct-sales consultant base into the group. The combined entity traded for a period as Natura &Co, including a secondary NYSE listing that was voluntarily ended in 2024; a 2025 corporate simplification consolidated the group back under the Natura Cosméticos entity, trading again as NATU3 on B3's Novo Mercado. Today the company operates primarily in Brazil and other Latin American markets, with additional presence in North America and Europe through its brand portfolio, and continues to emphasize sustainability positioning (B Corp certification, biodiversity sourcing) in its public communications.
