Overview
Nippon Menard Cosmetic Co., Ltd. (ζ₯ζ¬γ‘γγΌγε粧εζ ͺεΌδΌη€Ύ) is a privately held Japanese cosmetics manufacturer headquartered in Nagoya, Aichi Prefecture. Founded on November 17, 1959 by Daisuke Nonogawa, the company makes and sells skincare, makeup, quasi-drug, and health-food products, historically distributed through a face-to-face beauty-counselor and salon channel rather than conventional retail, along with company-affiliated Menard beauty salons in some markets. Since expanding overseas in the 1960s, Menard has built a presence across Asia and beyond through wholly owned subsidiaries and distributor relationships, including operations in Malaysia (Nippon Menard (M) Sdn. Bhd., established 1988), Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Vietnam, Thailand, France, Canada, and the United States, with the company describing subsidiaries in several countries and a broader distribution network spanning roughly a dozen additional markets, with more recent expansion into the Americas, Europe, and the Middle East. Beyond cosmetics, the Menard corporate group is associated with the Menard Art Museum (opened 1987) and Menard Country Club. The company remains privately owned and is not publicly traded.
