Thirty-One Gifts

Overview

Thirty-One Gifts was founded in 2003 by Cindy Monroe, who began the business in the basement of her home in Chattanooga, Tennessee, before relocating operations to the Columbus, Ohio area as the company grew. It built its business around personalized purses, totes, storage bins, and other home-organization and gift items, sold primarily through in-home and online "parties" hosted by independent sales consultants across the United States and Canada, a structure commonly described as a party-plan direct-selling model with unilevel-style commission tiers. The company grew into one of the larger US direct sellers, at one point reporting annual sales approaching 800 million US dollars, and was a member of the Direct Selling Association. In 2020, investment firm Kanbrick (led by Tracy Britt Cool) took an ownership stake and became a partner alongside founder Cindy Monroe. In October 2024, Monroe informed the company's consultant network that Thirty-One Gifts would wind down operations, and the company closed by the end of 2024, following a broader wave of exits and restructurings among direct-selling companies in that period. Because it is no longer an active business, current operational details (staffing, product lineup, live contact channels) should be treated as historical rather than current.
