Yanbal

Overview

Yanbal International was founded in 1967 in Lima, Peru, by Fernando Belmont and has remained majority-owned by the Belmont family since; his daughter, Janine Belmont Dauelsberg, has led the company as president since 2011. It designs, manufactures and distributes cosmetics, skincare, fragrances and jewelry, operating under both the Yanbal and Unique brand names in different markets. The company sells exclusively through a network of independent consultants and directors rather than retail storefronts, following a direct-selling business model common among Latin American beauty companies. It maintains manufacturing operations, including dedicated perfume plants, and has expanded through in-house design and production facilities for both cosmetics and jewelry. Since its founding, Yanbal has grown from its original Peruvian base into a multinational operation with a presence in roughly nine countries spanning Latin America, the United States, and parts of Europe. A related company, Belcorp, was founded by Fernando's brother Eduardo Belmont after the two split the original business in the late 1980s.
