Direct Selling in Virginia Beach, Virginia
Regent University is based in Virginia Beach, a city of 454,808 people in the Census Vintage 2024 estimates. This page covers the student counts at Regent and at Old Dominion University in nearby Norfolk. It also covers one large manufacturing employer in Hampton Roads and what Plondo's directory shows for the city.
Regent University's 4,831 undergraduates
Regent University is based in Virginia Beach. U.S. News & World Report lists its undergraduate enrollment at 4,831 for fall 2025.
Next to a city population of 454,808, that is a small share of residents. It still means a few thousand undergraduates study at a campus inside city limits. For a direct selling company, those students are possible customers. Some are also possible sellers who would fit the work around a class schedule.
Old Dominion, one city over in Norfolk
Old Dominion University sits in nearby Norfolk, which is also part of Hampton Roads. The university reported more than 24,000 students in Fall 2026. It described that as record enrollment.
U.S. News & World Report lists 17,504 undergraduates at Old Dominion for fall 2025. The two counts come from different terms and different publishers. This page does not subtract one from the other to estimate graduate enrollment.
Read with the Regent figure, the Old Dominion counts show two student populations within the same region. A seller based in Virginia Beach can reach both without leaving Hampton Roads.
Over 2,500 STIHL employees in Hampton Roads
Virginia Beach Economic Development cites STIHL, a manufacturer with a Virginia Beach operation, as an employer. The agency says STIHL offers careers to over 2,500 current employees in Hampton Roads.
That figure covers the region, not the city alone. The source does not say how many of those employees live in Virginia Beach, so this page does not guess.
What the figure does show is a large manufacturing payroll in the area. A company recruiting here would be talking in part to people who already hold factory jobs. Any plan for this market has to fit around their working hours.
