What is a binary compensation plan?

A binary plan organizes every distributor into two teams, a left leg and a right leg. People you sponsor are placed into one of the two legs, and enrollments from your upline can spill into your legs below you. That shared placement is what makes the binary plan feel like a team sport.

Commissions are calculated on volume. Most binary plans pay on the weaker of the two legs, often called the pay leg, so both sides need to keep producing for the check to grow. Volume that is not paid this period usually carries over, and balanced legs trigger cycle or matching bonuses.
