Compensation plans
Matrix MLM compensation plan software
A fixed width and depth grid, for example three wide and nine deep. Full frontlines spill downward, so teams fill the matrix together.
What is a matrix compensation plan?
A matrix plan, sometimes called a forced matrix, limits how many people can sit on each frontline. A common shape is three wide and nine deep, written as three by nine. Once your frontline is full, the next person you sponsor spills to the next open position below.
That forced width is the point. Because you can only place a few people directly, everyone works together to fill the matrix from the top down, and spillover from active uplines helps new members start earning sooner.
How the matrix plan pays
Fixed width and depth
Each position holds a set number of frontline slots and pays down a set number of levels.
Forced spillover
Once a frontline is full, new enrollments spill to the next open spot, filling the matrix top down.
Teamwork by design
Because width is capped, uplines and downlines have a shared interest in filling every position.
Level payouts
Commissions pay through the matrix depth, often with higher percentages as members advance in rank.
Matching and pools
Add matching bonuses and rank pools to reward leaders who help their matrix fill and stay active.
Configurable shape
Set the width, the depth, and every rule, and change the shape as the company grows.
How Plondo runs a matrix plan
Plondo places new members according to your matrix shape and spillover rules automatically, then calculates level payouts in real time. Distributors watch their matrix fill live rather than guessing where the next placement landed.
The shape and rules are yours. Width, depth, per level percentages, spillover logic, and rank qualifications are all configurable, and changes take effect in days. With 37 plan structures available, a matrix core can carry fast start, matching, and pool bonuses.

Matrix plan questions
What does three by nine mean?
It describes the matrix shape. Three by nine means each position can hold three people on its frontline and pays down nine levels deep. Plondo lets you set any width and depth your plan needs.
How does spillover work in a matrix?
When a frontline is full, the next enrollment is placed in the next open position below, which can benefit the people already in that leg. Plondo automates placement to your rules.
Is a matrix plan better for retention?
Many companies find the forced width encourages teamwork and helps new members earn early through spillover, which can support retention. The right fit still depends on your products and field.
Can we change the matrix shape later?
Yes. Width, depth, and rules are configurable in Plondo, so you can adjust the shape as the company grows without a full rebuild.
